STOP! Anything you wear can be used against you!

When walking around on campus every day, several fashion violations are brought to my attention. It's not okay guys and girls. Seriously! I can tolerate the pjs to class - that's not a big deal. It's the really noticeable fashion 'trends' that are a big no-no for some people.

I'm going to try and keep you up-to-date of the random violations I see on Texas Tech campus. On a previous blog of mine on MySpace I named a few, but I have a feeling that since Spring and Summer are approaching... Fashion Tickets may be on the rise...

Fashion Violation #1
Boys should NOT wear Uggs or fur boots.... especially with skinny jeans.

I saw a young guy walking around with his skinny jeans tucked into boots exactly like these. Clearly he plays for the other team, which is fine, but I asked a couple of guy friends who play for the other team, and the agree - that's just not right.

Fashion Violation #2
I'm a curvy girl. Not hating at all. However, I do know NOT to wear non-black leggings, and if I were to wear leggings, I'd wear a shirt long enough to cover all of the junk in the trunk and most of the thighs. It wouldn't look like this:

Where in the world is Laura San Diego?

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know it’s been a while since I last updated my blog. Last semester to be exact! There have been several changes in my life since then. How lucky of me to wait so long to now write a novel about all of it instead of spreading my news out. Haha suckah!

So my first semester back in school was kick ass. I did pretty darn well for not being in school for a while. I ended it with 2 As, 2 Bs & 1 C. The C was in government, but I was just happy to pass the class. Shout-out to Jessica who helped me study for 7 hours for my final. It was fun. I made a few friends (much younger), but it made the classes more interesting. I’m taking 12 hours this semester again. I started out with 15 but was informed by my advisor that the 2 Econ classes I need can be knocked out in one. I’ll be doing that over the summer. I'm definitely trying to get out as quickly as possible. Don't get me wrong, I love college, but I'm ready to get going! I want to be out in the working world.... Speaking of work...

Well, I’m happy to announce that I have finally cut my apron strings cut from Apartment Home Living….well I had the apron strings cut for me really. ApartmentHomeLiving.com has been my life really, for the past 4 & a half years and I poured my heart & soul into that place and it was worth all the blood, sweat & tears. AHL sold to Apartments.com that’s based out of Chicago. They are a well formed company that has several departments already in place to take over what we had. It was really bittersweet. I’m sad to not work with my coworkers anymore, but we all worked hard to make AHL successful, and we did it. This was the goal. Aside from that, I was getting pretty tired of working from home anyway. I miss the interaction with folks. Working from home is no bueno if you like to talk a lot. =) I’m applying as a part-time receptionist at several places and as a bank teller. You know, just something part time since I’m done with school at 1p.m. every day.

On the love front, I gots me a man! Crazy huh? Every Thanksgiving night, in order to wind down from dealing with our hectic families, a lot of the cousins get together and hang out at Fox & Hound. Well, this past Thanksgiving, I ran into Aaron… literally. (Just call me Grace.) I apologized for nearly knocking him over, we started talking, he invited me out the next night for his sister’s birthday, we exchanged numbers, went out the next night and have been dating ever since. It’s been fun. I’m enjoying this relationship. He’s sweet and funny. I love his family & they seem to love me! It’s going well so far. Here’s a picture of us:

We are going to Austin this weekend for a VERY short trip (Friday evening – Sunday morning). My dearest friends Nick & Melissa are getting married. I’m so excited for them! Aaron is also meeting the folks….Yikes! :P

A couple of months ago I was reunited with one of my best friends from high school, Mandi. We’ve been hanging out & she’s made the life in Lubbock, a bit smoother. We just signed up for our 10 year reunion group a couple of weeks ago on Facebook… Yuck. Seriously? 10 years? Not okay.
Me & Mandi

Let’s see, I think that about wraps it up. I’m still living with my grandparents, and that’s always interesting. I am trying to move out with Mandi at some point. I’d like to be closer to campus. Okay, that’s enough. I’ve got to study for a sociology exam & work on some English homework. Until next time…
